L Ron Hubbard is known for his science fiction writing and is currently the most published author with 1,084 short stories and books.

He also created the religion of Scientology which is based around aliens, spacecrafts, "thetans" and completely made up and inaccurate data on psychology.

L Ron couldn't seem to help, but to constantly lie about his own life, including telling others that he had a PhD in nuclear physics, despite having poor grade and dropping out of college (without ever earning a degree), served in the Navy where he obtained great injuries from battle (even though records show that he never even saw battle or left US waters during his service) and may have planted a bomb on his own ship for the sake of appearing heroic when he "found" said bomb.
